Sheridan Psychologists welcomes Dr Deberea Sherlock an Educational and Developmental Psychologist who brings to our team extensive experience in children’s learning and development. She will be taking on clients between the ages of 5 – 13 years and offers a caring, creative, and family-centred approach to her work. Deberea has worked in not-for-profit and public sectors, and private practice. She has co-authored a series of children’s clinical books (The Ant Patrol Children’s Stories ®) and educational resources, and her experience in supporting children and adolescents with attentional challenges led to a research collaboration with The University of Queensland (Sherlock, D., & Mulvihill, A. 2020. Deberea provides therapy support for children who experience anxiety and/or behavioural challenges. She offers a specialised area of practice in the assessment of ADHD and therapy support for children and young adolescents who experience challenges with impulse, attention and executive control.  Deberea adopts a strong family-centred and neuro-affirming framework that draws from the clinical approaches of cognitive behavioural, narrative, and expressive therapies.

  • Metacognitive Therapy (for older children with attentional challenges)
