Sheridan Psychologists welcomes Dr Deberea Sherlock an Educational and Developmental Psychologist who brings to our team extensive experience in child and adolescent therapy, learning and development. She will be taking on clients between the ages of 5-15 and takes a caring, creative, and family-centred approach to her work.

Deberea has worked in the not-for-profit and public sector, and in private practice. She has also co-authored a series of children’s books (The Ant Patrol Children’s Stories ®), and other educational resources, and her experience in supporting children and adolescents with attentional challenges led to a past research collaboration with The University of Queensland.

She offers therapy support for children aged 5 – 13 years who experience anxiety and/or behavioural challenges. She also has specialised in the assessment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and therapy support for children and young adolescents who experience challenges with impulse, attention and executive control. She adopts a strong family-centred and neuro-affirming framework that draws from the clinical approaches of cognitive behavioural, narrative, and expressive therapies.

  • Metacognitive Therapy (for adolescents with attentional challenges)
