With over 17 years’ experience, Dr Maya Lloyd (M Clin Psych, PhD, FCCP, MAPS) has worked across a broad range of areas in both private practice and QLD Health. Now solely in private practice, Maya continues to practice across the lifespan.
Maya treats individuals with depression and other mood disorders, anxiety, trauma related issues, grief and loss concerns, adjustment to difficult life circumstances, adjustment to relationship break-ups and dealing with unexpected life changes. Maya also works with individuals experiencing stress management and gender identity changes. Maya is passionate about helping people find their purpose in life, a sense of happiness, or feeling of contentment with who they are and the direction they are taking in life.
Maya has specialist skills in the area of perinatal and infant mental health. This includes treating parents with postnatal or antenatal depression and anxiety, along with providing parenting support and bonding/attachment between parents with infants and toddlers.
Maya also sees children and adolescents for individual therapy for a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation and self-harm, parental separation and parent-child relationship problems. Maya is also an experienced family therapist.
Maya practices a range of therapies which are tailored to suit the individual and which include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Family Therapy and Circle of Security (a parenting approach based on attachment theory). Maya is also an endorsed supervisor and is accredited to supervise clinical registrars and those still completing their postgraduate qualifications.
Dr Maya Lloyd offers face-to-face appointments on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays.
