Clinical Psychologist

Sophia Ford (BBehavSc Hons, MClinPsych, MAPS) is a clinical psychologist who assists people with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, personality disorders, eating disorders, trauma, relationships and communication, identity and self-esteem, grief and loss, suicidality and self-harm, and adjustment to change and life events. Sophia sees clients ages 13 up, works particularly well with adolescents and young adults, and sees adults across the lifespan.

Sophia has a naturally warm and gentle therapeutic style, with a passion for supporting people to discover insights, find solutions, make decisions, and develop new behaviours to help equip and empower them to make positive changes in their lives.

Sophia has a broad range of professional experience, previously working in community mental health, alcohol and drug counselling, inpatient and outpatient hospital settings, suicide prevention and bereavement research, and private practice.

Sophia is trained and experienced in utilising a range of evidence-based treatment models, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, solution-focused therapy, and interpersonal therapy. Sophia aims to tailor and integrate treatment to the needs of the individual, working collaboratively with each client to find the most suitable approach.

Sophia offers telehealth and face-to-face appointments on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays 9.30am-3.30pm.
