Psychologists with general registration (over 60% of Australia’s psychologists) have a minimum of six years of university training and supervised experience and build on that with ongoing professional development, learning, and education.
Registered – or ‘general’ psychologists – are qualified mental health professionals who can provide counselling and therapy and work in any area of psychology within their scope of practice. Psychologists with general registration can work in a variety of settings and assess, diagnose and treat a wide range of clients and areas of concern.
